Time Flies Like An
Arrow by Edison Schroeder 1966
Oh thin farm
girls like farm boys narrow,
And tax firm
men like fat tax forms,
And thin
fruit flies like thunderstorms,
But time
flies like an arrow.
When farm
girls thin their boy friends flanks,
And tax forms
tax all firm mens souls,
Thats when the murd'rous
thunder rolls,
And thins the fruit flies ranks.
Like tossed
bananas in the sky,
The thin
fruit flies like common yarrow,
Thens the
time to time the time flies,
Like the time
flies like an arrow.
This
clever poem is a commentary on the difficulty of producing a machine parsing
(and thence translation) of English. Almost
every phrase is open to several interpretations
